Since 1998, Puerto Cancun has been pursuing several environmental activities in the property in the hopes of contributing to the regional conservation of the native flora and fauna.

Flora Rescue
Puerto Cancun has rescued more than 90 thousand plants from 44 different species such as:

• Ch`iit Palm (thrinax radiata). We use their seeds to reproduce 25 thousand plants with several rescue and propagation techniques.
• Three mangrove species (lacularia racemosa, rhizophora mangles and conocarpus erectus). More than 30 thousand seeds have been planted in order to promote reforestation research and survival techniques under nursery conditions.

Community Donations
Puerto Cancun’s nursery has continuously donated plants to several beneficiary institutions as well as to the City of Cancun for ornamental use.

School Program
Degree level: Puerto Cancun has been preparing students about environmental management and conservation:

• General qualification.
• Qualification about crocodile management and rescue.
• Mangrove knowledge.
